About the Event
This year celebrates the 200th birthday of the Erie Canal, and we want to celebrate with them. We have chartered the canal boat Sam Patch for a special cruise on Sunday, July 20th. The boat will leave the dock at 12 Schoen Place in historic Pittsford NY at noon for a 90 minute ride. The tour will include the history of the Erie Canal as well as passage through Lock 32, providing the experience of moving through the “water elevator” just west of the village of Pittsford. There will also be quiet time for you to chat with your fellow alums and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
You’re welcome to bring guests with you. Since it’s a lunchtime cruise, a box lunch consisting of a sandwich or salad with a sweet treat is available for an added cost for pre-order, as well.
